Mission

Many low-income Los Angeles residents, especially those who do not speak English, would like healthcare insurance, but do not have it because they either do not see the value in it or they do not know how to navigate the system to obtain it.  The vast majority of these low-income residents CAN afford healthcare insurance. Because they are low-income, their insurance is heavily subsidized by the government and can even be free (with Medi-Cal). The reason they do not have insurance is a lack of knowledge rather than wealth. By filing and paying for their first year of healthcare insurance, our organization shows the indispensable value of having health insurance and therefore encourages them to invest in it for the rest of their lives.

A muchos residentes de Los Ángeles de bajos ingresos, especialmente a aquellos que no hablan inglés, les gustaría tener seguro de salud, pero no lo tienen porque no ven el valor en él o no saben cómo navegar por el sistema para obtenerlo. La gran mayoría de estos residentes de bajos ingresos PUEDEN pagarse por seguro de salud. Porque son de bajos ingresos, su seguro está fuertemente subvencionado por el gobierno y puede incluso ser gratuito.  La razón por la que no tienen seguro es una falta de conocimiento más que de riqueza. Al presentar y pagar por su primer año de seguro de salud, nuestra organización muestra el valor indispensable de tener seguro de salud y por lo tanto les anima a invertir en él para el resto de sus vidas.
